Patient Rehabilitation Project

Background and Objectives

The Patient Rehabilitation Project (PRP) is an income generating project for ex-leprosy patients. Due to the severe disabilities of hands and feet ex-leprosy patients are still stigmatised in Nigeria. Therefor it is virtually impossible for them to find a paid job. Many of them are forced to beg to earn a living.

The most important objective of the PRP is to generate income in a worthy manner for  ex-leprosy patients. An added benefit is the possibility to offer health education which is an important tool to prevent future disabilities.
